Jazz Mouse takes on City of Derry Jazz Festival

Jazz is as much for children and families as it is for everyone else and who better to keep the kids entertained than Jazz Mouse? Jazz Mouse is a talented French musician who’ll be appearing at The Waterside Theatre on Saturday 5th May at 2.00pm as part of the 6th City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival.

Inside the piano of the most boring music teacher in the world, Jazz Mouse hangs out with all the notes! He’s there when they fall out and meets the naughty note that won’t stay in tune!

But can he inspire the pupil of the most boring music teacher in the world to have fun?

Derry City Council are the organisers of the festival and are confident it will be a great success. A spokesperson said the Jazz Mouse show will be fantastic entertainment for children of all ages.

“One of the things which has impressed me most about the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival is that it is so varied and accessible. The Festival isn’t just for jazz purists, it’s for everyone who enjoys high calibre music and great entertainment. And that goes for children as well!

“The Jazz Mouse is a lively fun event for children. He’ll capture their imaginations and keep them entertained and I’m delighted we can give families this option during a weekend of great music!”

Jazz Mouse is a great introduction to the fun side of Jazz for children of all ages. They’ll love getting to know Jazz Mouse and all the notes which live inside the piano!

Children will find out if it’s more important to get all the notes right or to learn to have fun making music!

The show runs over two days. On Friday 4th May at 10.30am and on Saturday 5th May at 2.00pm. Jazz Mouse is suitable for children aged 5+
