Lee Hedley Band have literally just returned fresh off the plane from Cannes, France this week where they headlined a private party for a select gathering of VIP New Yorkers and none other than Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman. A firm Derry Jazz festival favourite for many years, they are no stranger to major music festivals throughout Ireland, Italy and France, Eastern Europe and with Derry being Lee’s ‘second home’ this is sure to an extraordinary rock ‘n’ roll blues party to enjoy from a very popular and highly respected band.
Lee Hedley who ‘insanely’ fronts the outfit on vocals and harmonica is joined this year by none other than Sam Davidson (Taste) who has to be one of best guitarists this country has ever seen. The driving rhythm section consists of Lyn McMullan on drums and Ian Cairns on bass who make this probably the best ever line up that Lee has brought to the Derry Jazz Festival.
