Guinness Free Jazz Trail 2011
The Guinness Free Jazz Trail is now established as an
essential part of the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band
Festival bringing great musicians and fantastic music
to over 70 venues in the city for free over the bank
holiday weekend.
The 2011 festival will be celebration of a dazzling decade of success as the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival marks its tenth birthday. Since its first outing in 2002 the festival has grown to become a staple on the international jazz circuit and one of the biggest events on Irish culture calendar.
With the city still buzzing after being awarded the first UK City of Culture 2013 title, there’s no better time to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and friendly welcome of the famous ‘walled city.’ Thanks to the Guinness Free Jazz Trail which is an essential part of the Festival bringing great musicians and fantastic music to venues in Derry for free you can take a pick and mix approach to sampling the hundreds of fantastic gigs on offer over the weekend.
