Jazz at the Forum
The City of Derry Jazz Festival and BBC Radio Ulster present Jazz at the Forum featuring Siobhán Pettit and the Ulster Orchestra with other guest artists. The evening will be directed by jazz pianist and arranger Brian Byrne and will feature music specially arranged for the night.
Brian Byrne
From passionate film scores with 60 piece orchestras
(including Jim Sheridan's 'In America), to string
arrangements for rock bands, from scores for theatre
musicals, television themes and pop song writing to
arranging for big bands and playing the hottest jazz
piano. Brian Byrne is one of Ireland's most versatile
musicians and composers.
Siobhán Petitt
Returning to the Jazz Festival for her 2nd year.
She has been described as having an elusive combination
of a golden voice, empathy and charisma with sublime,
gorgeously understated vocals.
The Ulster Orchestra
The orchestra is renowned for the breadth and scope
of its work. Recent highlights have included Proms in
the Park in Carrickfergus, The Chieftains with the
Ulster Orchestra at the Belfast Festival at Queen's
and Duke Special and the Ulster Orchestra at the Cathedral
Quarter Arts Festival. Hosts from Radio Ulster, Walter
Love and Linley Hamilton.
